enough of this fucking emo-shit, time to be my old self again.

it’s been a while since I’ve liked a band as much as I like The Naked And Famous. they are awesome and make me feel like going out and being happy in front of some miserable people (copyright - the sleep talkin’ man). fuck, I adore their music. wish they were touring Europe, I’d so fly somewhere to see them!!!

anyway they look good, they sound good and they make me want to write posts about music again. and write music again. this means they are pretty awesome.

other than that, same old life, same old drama but I’m getting over it all. life’s actually good, even taking into consideration the fact that autumn’s here and it’s basically fucking snowing!!

I’m sore from dancing. yesterday was a good day. tonight’s gonna be a good night.
The Naked and Famous will be my life’s soundtrack this season.

musings (ha-ha, pun intended) of a girl who thinks music is important. and maybe obsesses over it’s importance a bit too much.

en gros, I have no idea what this blog is gonna be about. I want it to be about me, but at the same time about something I love most in this world – music. cliché, I know. a true one at that.

the epiphany of creating such a blog came to me on a feverish night in a hospital bed, inspired by:

- the interest in WHY is music so important to us? what is it that make our favorite songs our favorite songs? why can’t we sometimes listen to some song anymore because it reminds me of a certain unhappy event/person we dislike or how come we don’t get tired of a song after years of repeat and meanwhile there are songs we can be crazy about and not like them 2 weeks afterwards?

- a heated discussion among a group of friends, and me finding myself alone with the opinion that music is the key to feeling something (emotions n shit), and that without music I’m not really sure if I could feel a feeling to it’s max. about 90% of the most memorable moments/trips/time periods/relationships/stuff in my life are connected to a song and I’ll try to figure out why.

- the fact that I want to know why we feel such a need to relate to the music or lyrics of a certain song, of the lyrics of a certain band and so on. what makes me scream “OH MY GOD IT’S ME AND BIRGIT’S SONG” whenever I hear Mr. Brightside by The Killers? (there must be so much girls and guys out there who think this is their song.. what can I do? The Killers make good music)

- the fact that I really like to blog, but blogging about my daily doings gets boring after a while for me and for the reader, and music seems to be the only thing that could inspire me to write more or less often

so what I would like to do, is introduce you to my taste and explain why I like the songs I like. I’ll post a video or a link to a song I like or which reminds me of a certain thing from the past or from the present, and try to dig deep into myself to find an answer to all the questions I wrote above. maybe some lone readers will find their answers through mine.
