no song this time
as I’ve been a bit busy trying to regain normal life after being semi-paralyzed in various beds (hostel bed in Turkey - hospital bed - my very own), I won’t write a song-report this time.
yesterday I had a nice visit from Birgit and she brought David and Naomi - 2 YFU staff people from Switzerland, the cool staff. I’m such an awful host, I knew they were coming and I promised to cook them dinner but I hadn’t prepared *anything*. I still managed to improvise a meal - weird tagliatelle pasta and ready-made sauce, so I didn’t really make it myself. I did put the cheese in the grater, though, and asked them to grate it themselves should they need it.
after the essential - eating - we went to the city, my first time after what, 11 days? plan A was not to drink too much, given the fact that I’m still heavily medicated most of the time. upon failure, plan A became plan B which was called “ah fuck it” so in about 6 hours I managed to spend 70% of my money and do the Usual Three of Tallinn Nightlife - Hell Hunt, Protest and Levikas. made some new friends who wouldn’t probably recognize me when sober, hell, I probably wouldn’t recognize them either. either way it was a fun night and I hope to hang out with them more when they come back to Tallinn (the swiss went to Kuressaare.. for what, I do not know)
when I got home today morning at approx half past three a.m., I felt the urge to do something for the house. cleaned the living room a bit, took out the trash, took out the trash bag for empty bottles etcetera.. put the alarm clock for 10:30am to go and feed grandma’s cat. when I woke up at 10:30, my body sort of went on autopilot - get dressed, grab the keys, grab the bike, ride to grandma’s, feed cat, pet cat, sleep a bit, ride back. sometimes I even amaze myself.. the voice of conscious was a bit louder that that of my hangover.
a bit later, Gunnel came over and we had tea and talked a bit and then decided to try my new couch and watch some TV. things we watched today:
- 4 episodes of Oprah - I do not recommend it, it’s HIGHLY addictive. it’s awesome.
- a film called “Paris, je t’aime”, of which everybody had been talking about. it was lovely, but in a sad way. such a beautiful movie.
- a film called “Burn after reading” - definitely a new favorite.. I have no words, just watch it. Brad Pitt is awesome.
-shit like wife swap, the secret lives of women, weakest link, hollywood top 10 ugly duckling turned to princess stuff. all so very addictive! I liked wife swap the best. estonian wife swap is nothing compared to the crazy US shit!
and then we orderded an XL pizza at the very last minute and had a nice bottle of wine with it. a perfect, perfect afternoon/night, and Gunnel is such a sweetheart. nice to have some social life without actually going out of the house every once in a while.
